Queensland based Maleah Lang-McMahon is one of Australia’s most successful rising showjumping stars. She has now been awarded a prestigious Sport Australia Hall of Fame (SAHOF) Scholarship; a bursary created to help the next generation of elite Australian athletes under the age of 21 achieve their potential in sport and life.

With a team of five competition horses, Maleah has already won numerous titles in Junior and Young Rider Championship classes around the country. Having grown up in a showjumping family, the young rider has been involved in the sport from a very early age and is surrounded by excellence; Maleah’s father Peter McMahon competed in showjumping at the Beijing Olympic while her mother Michelle Lang-McMahon represented  Australia at the World Equestrian Games at The Hague in 1994. In addition to their ongoing involvement with showjumping, the family now runs a racing and pre-training stable.

Having already competed in Europe at the tender age of 14, Maleah has enjoyed her first foray into international competition and is keen to compete overseas again in future. There’s no doubt that the SAHOF scholarship will assist this young star to achieve her goals both at home in Australia, and abroad in future.
