The 2019 Victorian Youth Dressage Championships (17-20 January), sponsored by Ellanbrae Park, are set to begin at Boneo Park on the Mornington Peninsula.

Running Thursday to Sunday, classes span Preliminary to Grand Prix and cater to all age groups, from Primary through to Secondary and even Under 25 classes.

Thursday will see the Preliminary 1.1 and 1.2 Interschool classes commence, covering Primary, Intermediate and Senior age classifications.

Friday will cover the Horse and Pony Elementary classes; the Horse and Pony combined Advanced classes; FEI Young Rider, Junior and Pony Team Tests; FEI Prix St Georges; FEI Inter A; FEI U25 Inter II; and Novice Interschool classes.

Saturday, will see riders compete in the Preliminary Participation classes; Pony Novice; Medium classes; FEI Young Rider, Junior and Pony Individual Tests; FEI Inter I; FEI Inter B; FEI U25 Grand Prix; and the Elementary and Advanced Freestyles.

Sunday will see the Freestyle classes continue, with the Novice, Medium, Inter I, Inter A/B, U25 Grand Prix, FEI Young Rider, FEI Junior and FEI Pony classes. In addition, the official Premliminary classes are run for ponies and horses, as are the Participation Novice classes.

Despite hot weather in the early part of the week, the forecast is hopefully looking a little more favourable with temperatures around 30 degrees Thursday and Friday. Saturday is cooler and should be in the low twenties, although there is a slight chance of storms that we hope will stay away!
