Quirindi Eventing has delivered a rich weekend of competition at its Easter One-day Event, with Shane Rose taking away a sweet victory.

Just one of the events held at the spectacular venue in New South Wales, the long-weekend ODE attracted hundreds of competitors who revelled at the chance to stretch their legs on the rolling cross country course.

Taking out first and second place in the Barastoc CCN4*-S, Shane Rose dominated the field on board Easy Turn and Virgil with an impressive start in the dressage arena.

Shane recorded 24.20 penalties with Easy Turn and 24.00 with Virgil in dressage, coming home with the win on Easy Turn with a total of 33.40 penalties.

Snapping closely at Shane and Virgil’s heels in third place were Emma Mason and Warrego Marco Polo finishing with 37.40 – only .20 penalties behind Shane’s second-place score.

Shenae Lowings and Bold Venture finished in fourth with 40.50 penalties, and Jessica Rae followed behind in fifth and sixth place with Fifth Avenue and Helsinki.

In the AIRR Members CCN3*-S, Andrew Barnett and Go Tosca continued their winning streak following their three-star triumph at SIEC in late February.

After a cracking dressage test, zero penalties on cross country and a clear showjumping round, Andrew and Go Tosca finished with a score of 25.70.

Rebel Morrow and Togo finished in second place with a score of 33.90 and Emma Bishop followed behind in third with 34.10 penalties.

Rounding out the top six riders in the three-star were Shane Rose and Duke of Sussex in fourth, Lauren Browne and Skys Da Limit in fifth, and Niki Rose and Dreamcatcher in sixth place.

In the Boonoona Design CCN2*-S, Soigne Jackson took out first with a strong score of 30.50 riding Warrego Collateral Damage. Phoebe McIntyre and Success Dostta finished in second place and Shenae Lowings and French Fizz placed third.

Jessica Rae had another good run on Dotti to place fourth while Matilda McCarroll and Valenthyme placed fifth and Emma Mason and KPH Kingfisher finished in sixth place.
