Week five of the Adequan Global Dressage Festival (AGDF) in Florida has seen some great performances in the Grand Prix CDI5* classes, and also a win to Australian rider Kelly Layne.

FEI Grand Prix CDI5* & Freestyle

Brittany Fraser-Beaulieu of Canada and All In won the FEI Grand Prix CDI5* Freestyle qualifier with a score of 71.304%. The pair also won the Freestyle with 76.520%.

FEI Grand Prix CDI5* & Special

In the FEI Grand Prix CDI5* qualifier for the Special, it was Adrienne Lyle of the USA and Salvino who won with a score 74.565%. The pair also won the Special with a score of 73.574%.

Kelly Layne wins in Wellington

Week five of the AGDF saw Wellington-based Australian rider Kelly Layne qualify for the new Future Stars Performance Series Final to be held at the end of the festival in March. Kelly won the Future Stars Performance Series third round (a national class) on Saturday with the eight-year-old German-bred gelding Livio Felluga, scoring 69.563% to win at what was the horse’s Prix St Georges debut.

The new Future Stars Performance Series Final for Small Tour horses was introduced to the AGDF this year and includes a final in the showcase international arena where qualified combinations will compete for $10,000 in prize money. The series is for seven to nine-year-old horses with the winners and runners-up in eight GDF national events qualifying for the final in the last of 12 weeks of competitions at the Palm Beach International Equestrian Center’s Stadium complex. Kelly’s win over the weekend means she is now qualified for the final.
