Alexander McLean & Bobbie Heath Claim the Final Charles Stanley Winter JA Classic Wins

All attention was focused on the last two Charles Stanley Winter JA Classic Qualifiers of 2016 which took place at Bury Farm Equestrian Village Winter 148cm Pony Premier Show. These highly anticipated classes proved, one again, to be a highpoint of the show. .

 

Forty-four combinations contested the final three qualifying places that were available in each qualifier for the prestigious Charles Stanley Winter JA Classic Championship, which will be held during the Charles Stanley British Masters International Horse Show (1st - 3rd July 2016). Alexander McLean and Bobbie Heath showed their composure and determination by taking both of the top spots available.

 

Alexander McLean, aged 13, from Lasswade, Midlothian is no stranger to the winners podium, accruing yet another Charles Stanley Winter JA Classic Qualifier win this time riding Tobar King, a 9 year-old grey gelding owned by Marjory McNaughton. Alexander and Tobar King were one of only two combinations to deliver a clear in the first round in a time of 67.77 seconds, and despite rolling a pole in the jump off they still managed to hang on to victory. 

 

Second place was taken by 14 year-old Hallie Lunn from Roachford, Essex riding Richard Lunn’s 13 year-old piebold mare, Javas Alun. Although the pair withdrew from the jump off, they were the only other combination to come home clear in the first round in 69.12 seconds earned their top two placing.

 

Megan Taylor, aged 14, from Tamworth, Staffordshire took third place on board Killack King, a 11 year-old grey gelding owned by Graeme Ash. The pair took this place after finishing as the fastest 4 faulter with their first round time of 63.46 seconds.
