Alicia Ryan to ride for Helgstrand at Turnberry

Alicia Ryan has been named as a rider for the newly developed Helgstrand at Turnberry, an elite dressage sales barn and breeding operation on Victoria’s Bellarine Peninsula.

“We are very excited to welcome the up and coming young rider Alicia Ryan to Helgstrand at Turnberry. Alicia will be a great addition to the team and we can't wait to get started,” reads a statement from Helgstrand.

Alicia, 25, is best known in the competition arena for her partnership with Bluefields Furstentanz whom she’s competed with success at CDI-Y level and more recently debuted at Big Tour in Inter II. Alicia was the winner of last year’s prestigious Aachen Challenge at Dressage and Jumping with the Stars, and this year looks forward to a Grand Prix start with Bluefields Furstentanz.

Helgstrand at Turnberry, recently declared the naming rights sponsor of the Sydney CD-Lite, has come about thanks to a partnership between Australian businessman Bruce Dixon and Denmark’s Helgstand Dressage. Bruce Dixon purchased the Bellarine property - formerly Mary and Rob Hanna’s Statene Park - and now plans to develop it into a premier sales barn and breeding operation. Already, a number of broodmares have been flown in from Europe with ridden horses on the way later this month.
