Boyd Exell recognised in Parliament

By Equestrian Life

Australian carriage driving legend Boyd Exell has been recognised in Parliament, with Kristy McBain MP (Eden-Monaro) delivering a speech in Canberra outlining his achievements on the world stage.

“I stand here today to recognised Bega Valley born and raised carriage driver Boyd Exell,” she began, before going on to explain how Boyd went from a “country kid” to five-time World Champion and eight-time World Cup Final winner in four-in-hand driving.

“Boyd is out there on the world stage doing Bega and Australia proud… I’m proud to stand here today to give this man the recognition he deserves in parliament.”

Boyd was surprised yet proud to receive the mention, saying he hoped it would serve "to open more opportunities for our carriage driving sport."

The recognition follows Boyd’s recent win in the Stockholm leg of the 2021/22 FEI Driving World Cup.
