The Camargue horse is considered to be one of the oldest breeds of horse in the world. For centuries, this breed of horse have traditionally lived in the harsh environments of the Camargue marshes of Rhône Delta, in the South of France. 

Full grown Camargue horses are often grey, with strong, short legs, and a big head. The foals are often black or dark brown when born, and turn grey as they get older. This breed of horse typically stands between 13.1 hh to 14.3 hh. Camargue horses are known for their agility, bravery and broad hooves, making their hooves durable for the harsh environment that they are exposed to.

This beautiful breed of horse also loves the salt air and spending time in the water. The Camargue breed are often called ‘Horses of the Sea’, due to this characteristic. If you ever get the chance to visit Camargue, you will likely see this delightful breed frolicking in the water, particularly early in the morning, and late in the afternoon.
