British Dressage Myerscough Premier League Preview

 Yesterday, the crème de la crème of dressage flocked to Myerscough, Lancashire for the first of eight annual Premier League competitions (4 – 8 March 2015). Spectators can expect five days of action packed dressage crossing all levels, from the babies in the Shearwater Potential Dressage Horse qualifiers to the top of the pyramid in the grand prix.
 
A perfect fixture for those looking to star gaze, kicking off proceedings is Wednesday’s Equine Construction advanced medium, which features China’s Olympic eventer, Alex Hua Tian (Don Geniro) who will be going head-to-head with girlfriend, Sarah Higgins (Franklyn Sugar). Another couple proving that Valentine’s Day love is still in the air is husband and wife combination, Charlie and Abigail Hutton who will be amongst those in the second Saracen Horse Feeds inter I class of the competition to battle it out for the top place.
 
Becky Moody has a busy show ahead of her as she prepares to compete a whopping seven times with her rides, Carinsio (PSG, both inter I classes, PSG freestyle) and Tirsa (PSG, inter I, inter I freestyle).
 
One must-watch class has to be Friday’s Fairfax Saddles PSG. With over 40 entries, the class has been split into two sections and includes riders such as Dan Greenwood (GF Deville), Henry Boswell (Retro-Hit), Harry Payne (Alert VI) and young riders, Jessica Gale (Umbro S) and Gaby Lucas (Salo & Zante) to name a few!
 
Saturday celebrates the weekend with music! With the likes of Steph Croxford (Mr Hyde), Ruth Edge (Shadowfax), Hannah Moody (Caluna) and Hayley Watson-Greaves (WG Rubins Nite) in attendance for the Horse Health grand prix freestyle, it’s bound to get you on your feet and dancing to the beat.
 
The competition comes to a close with Olympian, Richard Davison makes a return to competition after almost a two year break. Competing in the LeMieux grand prix, he’ll also be debuting new ride, Gwen Meyer’s Bubblingh. They’ll be facing great competition from combinations including Hayley Watson-Greaves (WG Equus & WG Rubins Nite), Samantha Thurman-Baker (San Piko), Bobby Hayler (Aldborough Rubenhall) and Hannah Moody (Caluna).
