The 14 year old black Irish Sporthorse, owned by Sally-Anne Egginton and ridden by Oliver Townend has retired following his win at Burnham Market CCI4*-S.

A star of Oliver Townend’s stables for close to five years, Cillnabradden Evo has enjoyed 8 international level wins with Oliver in the saddle from 21 starts. In 2019 the pair made history with their record dressage score of 19.7 penalties in the CCI5* at Badminton Horse Trials, going on to finish the event in 6th place. However it was at the CCI4* level that Cillnabradden Evo truly shone; a consistent performer across all phases, the gelding played a key role in Oliver Townend’s Event Rider Master Series title win in 2016 and won the British Open Championships in the same year.

Having won a CCI4*-S class at Burnham Market International Horse Trials in both 2019 and 2020, it seems fitting that this event would be Cillnabradden Evo’s final competition. At this year’s event Oliver and Cillnabradden Evo showed their expertise, adding just 2 time penalties to their dressage score to finish on 25.3 penalties in a strong field of 49 starters.

Cillnabradden Evo will now return to his owner Sally-Anne Egginton to enjoy his retirement.
