Coach of the Month is a new topic in Equestrian Australia's Evolve News. It is a way on highlighting the EA coaches and educators who work with dedication and passion all over Australia.

Tamsin Adcock, 45 years old, is a EA Level 2 General Coach and Coach Educator. She is an E level Dressage Judge and has been a South Australia Coach Committee member for the last 10 years. She has been appointed COACH OF THE MONTH by South Australia state branch.

Tamsin was born and grew up in the South East of England in the County of Hertfordshire, and was very lucky to be part of a horsey family, so her love & experience with horses started very early in life. As a young rider she brought on young horses and competed extensively in Show Jumping up to A grade. Before migrating to Australia, she completed her BHS (British Horse Society) Intermediate Instructors Certificate.

She arrived in South Australia in 1996, and started her coaching career from her equestrian property in Echunga. " With that done it was time to get my first TB off the track and go Eventing. Which I did on Starday winning the SA Horse trials Grey Seas Memorial Aggregate Trophy 1998 and competing up to 2** before moving on to my next competitive Dressage mounts Finney winning prelim State Champ and numerous other wins to elementary so far, along with Whot Not WBXTB who was bred to jump, but that was definitely not his thing! We won State Prelim Dressage Champ, Elementary Champ then recently having our last competition together at the 2015 SA State Dressage Champs, coming third overall in Medium, he has now been sold. The next young horse, I have recently broken in, she is a Warmblood by Royal Hit, so watch this space,  hope to have her out towards the end of the year, in which discipline ? I am not sure yet! "

Tasmin has been actively involved in the promotion of Coaching in the state. As a member of the South Australia Coach Committee  she has been actively involved in planning and presenting the full day Coach Conferences that Equestrian SA holds every year as a professional development update for our coaches, judges and riders every year. "My love of horses goes very deep, so to be able to work from home and spend my days coaching/riding & mentoring others to achieve their goals in the equestrian sport is the most rewarding job".

Tasmin is a presenter of Equestrian SA's Introductory Coaching Orientation clinics (eg 2df2f clinics) which they hold twice a year and also at the Train to Teach clinics which are held bi-monthly. Tamsin is always there to mentor and support our Introductory coach candidates and help them progress. She is very well respected by the SA equestrian Coaching Community and all members. As well, she has on ongoing commitment to Pony Club SA.

She recently upgraded her Dressage Judge qualification to E level and is planning to continue that progress to D level in 2016.

"My future goals are to keep up with ongoing professional development as a coach & CE. Aspire to train my own horse to Grand Prix. Mean while, up grading my current dressage judges accreditation to gain more knowledge and put back into the sport I love."
