Countdown to Paris: A sporting and cultural event at the Eiffel Tower

The countdown to the Longines Global Champions Tour - Longines Paris Eiffel Jumping is underway with the world’s best riders and around 120,000 spectators expected for the incredible sporting and cultural spectacle.

At a press conference in Paris next to the Eiffel Tower, actor and director Guillaume Canet and actress Marina Hands confirmed they will be among the amateur riders competing at the glamorous sporting and social event form July 3rd to July 5th.

Once again the top ranked riders in the world will be competing at the sensational arena by the Eiffel Tower and the beautiful Champ de Mars for the 8th leg of the Longines Global Champions Tour 2015 series.

In less than 40 days the special stage in the City of Lights will be set for the highest calibre of show jumping competition with free access for the public. The Longines Global Champions Tour Grand Prix will take place on Saturday and will be broadcast to a worldwide audience on TV and online.

Olympic and World Champions will be reunited at the famous Paris landmark and among those in action will be last year’s winner Kevin Staut.

Marco Danese, Sport Director of Longines Global Champions Tour, said: “We are delighted to be returning to this spectacular and beautiful venue next to the world famous Eiffel Tower. We want to thank the Mayor and the City of Paris for their trememdous support for this special event.”

The unique and prestigious event will reflect the special essence of Paris celebrating French gastronomie, art and culture. There will also be special displays from the Republican Guard and there will be a stunning display by the signature artist for the event Paola Pivi who created a special image of white horses on the first floor of the Eiffel Tower for the event.
