The DJWTS team have been working hard behind the scenes to bring you what will be the best spectacular to date and we have some great news for the showjumpers! We hope you all get behind this iconic event to make this year a show to remember.

Showjumping will start on Thursday 22 March, so block your diaries out now to be a part of the show or to just to come and watch.

The jumping will be held outdoors on the Australian Showjumping Championships arena. This offers a wonderful surface with a great warm up and we know your horses will love the footing.

The Champions of Champions crowning will return to the indoor arena on Saturday. Another highlight will be the amazing Saddleworld Showcase of Jumping, which will be combined with the Champions presentation.

Our judges this year include Franz Josef ‘Peppi’ Dahlmann, who has worked and trained with the Schockemöhle yard, Zangersheide Stud and German national coach Otto Becker to name a few. Franz’ speciality is young horses and we look forward to the knowledge and experience our German judge will bring to our panel.

David Quick and Michelle Lang McMahon round up our young horse judges, both of whom really compliment our panel.

Michelle is a QLD-based rider and owner of the 5-star facility Kolora Lodge which concentrate on breeding world class showjumpers as well as racehorse training and spelling. Michelle’s career highlights include competing in two World Equestrian Games and also in a World Cup Final, representing Australia at the highest level in showjumping.

David Quick founded Isle of Wight Farm in 1978 on the premise of breeding horses for type, temperament, trainability, confirmation, movement and quality; all attributes of the modern performance horse.

Three different backgrounds, but all judges know young horses and that’s what DJWTS is about.

Our course builder is Russell Morrison, a rider himself  and a former Australian Showjumping Championships course builder. Russell has been riding since he was three and boasts some amazing achievements as a rider. He represented Australia 5 times as a junior, young rider and senior, competed in over 20 World Cups, winning the Sale World Cup, a silver medal in the individual competition in Korea 2010 and team gold at Korea in 2008.

We look forward to seeing Russell's talents as a course builder over the 3 days of competition.

We also have some news on the heights for this year, so you are fully prepared for what to expect. We are setting the heights for the final day at:

4 year Old Maximum 1.05m
5 Year Old Maximum1.10m
6 Year Old Maximum 1.20m
7 Year Old Maximum 1.30m
Current Stars Maximum 1.40m

A showjumping VIP marquee will allow all jumping sponsors to watch the action, whilst being pampered by the hospitality of the DJWTS organising committee  - don’t miss your chance to be a part of it.

More information on packages available for sponsorship can be obtained by contacting Wendy van Sonsbeek via email wendy@sonsbeek.net.au

An updated schedule for the jumpers will be posted shortly on our website and on Facebook.

We look forward to seeing you at this year's DJWTS. It will be an event not to be missed.
