Sunny weather and a light breeze meant for happy horses, riders and spectators on day three of the Homes and Acreage Summer Dressage Championships

After a nail-biting Grand Prix yesterday all eyes were on Rose Deo and Jenny Gehrke’s Senator Nymphenburg ridden by Jayden Brown, and Mary Hanna and Syrianna in the Benleigh Equestrian Grand Prix Special today. However, mistakes heavily affected both these combinations tests. Mary Hanna and Syrianna ended up on top with a score of 69.787% followed by John Thompson and Kate Kyros’s beautiful stallion Chemistry with a score of 69.638%, however with 5th scoring 68.362% to say it was a tight and competitive class is an understatement!

Mary Nitschke and Utopian Cardinal secured the win in the Kyros Family Under 25 Grand Prix today with a personal best score of 68.932%!! A super test with canter pirouettes being a highlight scoring no less than a 7.5.

Olivia Gillespie and the gorgeous Versace I won the Cobot Pty Ltd Intermediate B today with a cracking score of 68.852% however Jodie Dunstan and Hollands Bend Highlander claimed the Medium Tour Championship.

Jayden Brown and Terrence Snow’s Willinga Park Quincy B continued their success in the Mosaic Intermediate I, despite a mistake in the 2x tempis they still finished with a score of 74.461%.

The 2 Construct Young Rider Individual test saw places turn on their heads today with NSW rider Kodi Tupper and Endless Dreams securing the win today with a super score of 67.451%.

Jessica Dertell and Sabble Farms Gladstone MH produced a faultless test in the Leader Equine Junior Individual Test to back up their win from yesterday with a PB score of 71.618%.

The HBT Insurance Medium Championship was highly contested with many scores of 70%+ but it was John Thompson riding Sue West’s Bachelor who claimed the coveted championship with Jayden Brown and Willinga Park Emotion in Reserve. The HBT Insurance Medium Pony Championship went to Jessica Dertell and Gleniph Tiramisu.

Justine Greer and Otway Bojangles continued their success from the day before to also claim the Carol Haynes and Skip Williamson Novice Championship with a highlight score of 77.353% in the Preliminary 1B. Reserve Champion went to Benjamin Thompson on Regal Quaterhero and the Pony Championship was won by Caitlyn Porter and Bookra Mint Edition.

Ava Braniff won the Pony Individual test today on Allengreen Medallist with a great score of 69.797%.

Scores were a little closer today in the 7 yo Round 2 with only 2% separating the paces mark between Willinga Park Fangio and Sonic K, however Jayden Brown backed up his win with a total score of 75.504%.

In the Springside 5 yo Round 2 John Thompson and Baron MI secured the win with a score of 80.800% with Maddison Growcott and BZ Qantas close behind with a score of 80.200%.

Rhianon Pettigrove and Keystone Furstin Class claimed 1st today in the Prydes Easifeed 4yo Round 2 with a highlight of 8.3 for perspective and a total score of 79.200%

Caitlyn Porter and Paradise Valley Cocktail secured the win in the second round of the 6yo Young Pony with a score of 78.400% and Bettina Kopetzky and San Sebastion were 1st in the Springside Warmbloods 5yo Young Pony Round 2 with a score of 75.000%.

In the Para Equestrian CPDN Individual classes, the Grade V was won by Dianne Barnes and Cil Dara Cosmic with a score of 68.572%, the Grade II was won by Maddison Cooke and Byalee Magic II with a score of 69.706% and the Grade I was won by Stella Barton and Falcon Disco Hit on a score of 64.464%. All tests though were hugely inspirational and a credit to the relationship between horse and rider.
Tomorrow is freestyle day for the majority of classes, a true crowd favourite! The freestyles shall be live streamed from 8am in the morning so all can enjoy whether you can make it to Boneo Park or not. Put your dancing shoes on and get ready for an exciting day.
