Equestrian Canada (EC) is in turmoil with four resignations in as many weeks — effectively meaning one third of the board has now gone.

The rider community has expressed discontent with EC in recent times, with Canadian eventers and the EC Jumping Committee submitting open letters to the organisation. These accompanied statements from individual riders who are unhappy with the current state of EC.

The EC board held an emergency meeting at the end of January following the resignation of three of its members. Despite calls for EC leaders to resign, the organisation said (in a statement released at the start of February): “The Board also confirmed their total confidence in the current leadership of EC, specifically of its President, CEO and Director of Finance.”

The complete statement from Equestrian Canada can be viewed here.
