Music echoing through Boneo Park and spectators and riders dancing to the chosen compositions made for a great day to conclude the Homes and Acreage Summer Dressage Championships 2022.

The highly anticipated Homes and Acreage Grand Prix Freestyle was won by Rose Deo and Jenny Gehrke’s Senator Nympenburg ridden by Jayden Brown with a score of 75.310%. For this combinations third Grand Prix start together, second freestyle and first CDI it is certainly the start of a special partnership and it is clear that Senator is a serious contender for the future! Second went to John Thompson and Kate Kyros’s stallion Chemistry who produced another superb test to finish on a score of 74.09%. Third went to Lindsey Ware and the gorgeous Aristede with a score of 71.485%.

In the Kyros Family Under 25 Grand Prix Freestyle it was another close class with less than 0.5% separating 1st and 2nd. Today it was Jessica Dertell and Sabble Farms, Eskara De Jeu who came out on top with a score of 72.550% and Mary Nitschke and Utopian Cardinal were in second with a score of 72.058%.

The Mosaic Intermediate I Freestyle was won by Jayden Brown and Terry Snow’s WillingaPark Quincy B with a massive score of 78.258% which secured them the overall Small Tour Championship. Close behind in the Freestyle today was Justine Greer and Yarramee Fonzi with a score of 77.225% and rounding out the top three was Georgina Foot and Zoe with a score of 75.800%.
The 2Construct Young Rider Freestyle once again saw placings completely flip, we congratulate Shilo Harvey and Jaybee Alonzo for their win today with a score of 68.992%.

The music and the choreography in the Equestrian Australia Para freestyles today was a treat to watch. The overall Equestrian Australia Para Championship was awarded to Maddison Cooke and Byalee Magic II. Together the combination finished their test on a score of 70.967% and tears of happiness were streaming down Maddie’s face.

With the conclusion of this incredible championship it is important to note that none of this would be possible without the support of Sponsors, the event organisers, technical delegates, judges, scribes, stewards, volunteers and everyone in between. For the first CDI in almost two years to go off without a hitch it is a real credit to the team behind this event. Although riders may now be taking a break over the next few days it is no rest for the wicked for the Boneo Park team as they continue preparations for the Homes and Acreage Wetlands Showjumping set to commence on the 28th of January.
