Competition intensifies, viewers are on the edge of their seat and the atmosphere heats up; the excitement of Rio seems to have reached the Jumping International of Valence!

And what better way to spend a late evening than to see an Olympic Team Champion win on the wire, right ahead of the world number two, Simon Delestre? Gold medallist just ten days ago in Rio, Kevin Staut proved he is in great form by winning the Prix CFDP with his 11 year old gelding Aran. A win that delighted the audience, whose applause shook the packed grandstands.

Haras Des Coudrettes’s rider left no chance to his compatriot Simon Delestre, long holder of first place in the provisional rankings. Only twenty tenths of a second separated them! That’s how competition works, and Simon Delestre is smiling again - especially after the misadventures of Rio. Chesall Zimequest has been a consistent performer since the beginning of the year and has achieved numerous five star places.

Rio’s atmosphere also brought luck to the young Charlotte Mordasini, who took out third place with one of her best performances.
