The first leg of the 2017 Event Rider Masters (ERM) series took place last weekend, with Britain’s Gemma Tattersall finishing in first place aboard her mare Quicklook V.

The first leg of the £400,000 series took place at the Dodson & Horrell Chatsworth International Horse Trials. ERM series events began with the dressage, following by the showjumping phase and then the cross country being the final decider.

Tattersall jumped clear in the showjumping and set out on the cross country in pole position. Finishing the course clear with just 3.2 time penalties, ensuring she remained in first place. Her finishing score of 36.9 mean that Tattersall and Quicklook V secured a record Chatsworth CIC3* score - and it was also a personal best.

Second went to Bettina Hoy, while dressage leader Thomas Carlile finished third.

The second leg of the 2017 ERM series is scheduled for the 2 and 3rd of June at Wiesbaden.
