Maree Tomkinson and Donna Elena have won the Mulawa Performance Grand Prix class on the penultimate day of the Horse First NSW Dressage Championships at AELEC Tamworth, with a score of 69.13%.

This is the second major win this elegant combination have enjoyed in New South Wales this year, having won the Grand Prix Special at Sydney CDI in May. At just nine years of age, the future looks bright for the Blue Hors Don Schufro mare, who Maree found in Germany as a four year old.

With eleven horse and riders competing in the Grand Prix, the class standard was high; the top six placegetters finished with scores over 65%. Alycia Targa and CP Dresden finished in second place with 68.515%, with less than one per cent separating the next four places. Third place went to Sheridyn Ashwood and Fererro Chocolate Box on 66.522%, with Katharine Farrell and Luxor 118 finishing fourth on 66.268% ahead of fifth placed Rozzie Ryan and Adonie on 66.232%. Rounding out the top six was Sally Rizzuto and Diamond Star on 65.609%.

Riley Alexander and the Mulawa Performance team are enjoying outstanding results through the course of the show. With MI Sirtainly Sir, Riley won the Intermediate Freestyle on a score of 70.25%, and he partnered Larenso to victory in the Medium Tour Freestyle. Their impressive score of 74.083% was nearly five percent higher than second placed Lizzie Wilson-Fellows and Lets Jazzabit.
