John Twomey talks to Roger Fitzhardinge about Rose-Hip Vital Equine | ||
Written by John Twomey
Most people best know "Flaunt It" as a 4* Eventer. He was also an advanced dressage horse and a Grand Prix show jumper. A training accident put an end to his competition career in June 2012 at the age of 13.
It was the end of his eventing career as every time we tried to jump or gallop him he was becoming sore and in fact got to the point where even a trot around the paddock was causing intermittent lameness some days. We were keen that he should be able to do some light duties as we feel that retired competition horses tend to age very quickly and he is very special to us. We were treating him with Pentosan and large doses of a Green Lip Mussel product with varying success. Some days he was ok and then some days not good, 3 out of 5 lame.
He appears to be so sound we are talking about competing him again as a dressage horse and show jumping. Thank you Rose Hip Vital for giving Flaunt It a second chance and a longer, healthier and happier life.
