Jonty Evans suffered a severe brain injury after falling off his 12-year-old Irish Sport Horse at the Tattersalls International Horse Trials earlier this year in June, and remained in a coma for six weeks.

The Irish Olympic eventer spent 11 weeks at two different hospitals in Ireland before travelling home to England to continue his recovery there.

Jonty secured his Rio Olympic mount, “Art” earlier this year in August, after raising over 500,000 pounds through a hugely successful crowd-funding campaign. Art was moved to Andrew Downes’ yard after the accident in June, but has since returned home to Jonty’s stables in November.

Jonty has returned to a simulator saddle at Hartpury College in Gloucester, and is looking forward to getting into the saddle on a real horse soon.
