Last weekend in the small town of Lang Lang, Victoria there was a major competition going on for Victorian showjumpers called the Kiernan Plant Hire PPSJC Autumn Championships at the Port Phillip Showjumping Club grounds. It is one of my personal favourite shows but I am one of many as it’s definitely on everyone’s showjumping calendar every year!!

In 2018 our major sponsor was Kiernan Plant Hire from Sale, Victoria; we are so lucky to have their support!! We also had many other sponsors for our show including Burnley Brewing, ISJ, Glenwood Park, Ponderossa Koo Wee Rup, South Eastern Equine, Merlin Park and Sam Williams Equestrian, and Horseware Australia!!! We had over 200 entries with some major riders coming for all around including Brook Dobbin, Paul Brent, Laurie Lever, Russell Johnson and Jess Barton to name a few!!

Kiernan Plant Hire PPSJC Autumn Championships is not just for the elite but also for the amateur riders with a mixture of classes starting from 105cm to Grand Prix heights!! The best part of the show is not just the showjumping on the amazing grass surface, but also the socializing outside of the arena with Amalfi white bringing her by Amalfi Artistry and Paintings in one of our trade stands and another stand for the kids to paint and play as much as they can!! Saturday night we always have a barbecue proudly supported by Bowen’s, which always gets every rider to interact and socialise together. The barbecue includes fire pits, free drinks and also we held a Calcutta this year which is a fun event to auction the Grand Prix horses and riders!!

There where many winners are grinners at our show, winning beautiful garlands by Tina Wells and trophy rugs from Horseware Australia. Winners included Ally lamb in the the Kiernan Plant Hire Grand Prix, Paul Brent in the Ponderosa Future Stars Championship, Samuel Robertson in the ISJ Glenwood Park Riders of the Future, Jess Embling in the Burnley Brewing 115cm class, Emily Hill in the South Eastern Equine 105cm, Phil Stevens in the Merlin Park 110cm, and Melissa Froesch in the Sam Williams equestrian 135cm.

Congratulations to all involved!
