Lone Jørgensen withdraws from Tokyo selection contention

By Equestrian Life

It has been announced overnight that Lone Jørgensen and the 14-year-old Danish Warmblood mare, Corinna, have withdrawn from Tokyo Olympic contention.

"Today Pauline and Frank Carnovale and I announce the withdrawal of Corinna from Tokyo Olympic contention.

“The ongoing Covid situation, and lack of international shows in Australia, has made it difficult for me to prepare for such an event in the manner we wish. I would like to thank Pauline and Frank for the opportunity to campaign the incredible Corinna, as well as for their unwavering support and being the best owners you could wish for.

“Recognition also to Ebony Toole, Corinna’s dedicated groom for all you do for Corinna and I. A special great hug goes to my Uli for his never ending patience and support of this journey the last 3 years .

“I would also like to thank Equestrian Australia’s High Performance team, Chris Webb, the selectors, our national Team Chef d’Equipe and the Australian dressage community for their support and for welcoming me so warmly as an Aussie.

“I wish the selected team all the best for a strong performance at the Games.”

Lone and Corinna (Crelido x Loran), an Australian based combination, had some solid CDI Grand Prix scores on the board, including 70.109% at the CDI3* Boneo Classic (January, 2020), and a 69.348% at the Sydney CDI-W (October, 2019). Since then, the pair have also notched up a number of scores over 70% in CDN classes, including 73.949% at the Victorian Dressage Festival (December 2020).
