Swiss rider Martin Fuchs rode to victory in the CSI5* (1.60m) Grand Prix of Basel with 12-year-old gelding Clooney. The lovely grey by renowned jumping sire Cornet Obolensky produced the quickest double clear over the two round competition.

Second place went to Werner Muff and Daimler, while French combination Simon Delestre and Chesall Zimequest were third. Only the top three jumped double clears.

Edwina Tops-Alexander and 11-year-old KWPN mare California finished in sixth place after having one rail down in the first round; they jumped clear in the second. The pair produced the fastest first round by a substantial amount, and were also very quick in the second round — faster than the top three place-getters.

Edwina and California also placed in the CSI5* (1.55m) Golden Drum of Basel. The pair jumped a double clear to finish 6th, behind winners Werner Muff and Daimler.

With Inca Boy van T Vianahof, Edwina also placed 9th in the CSI5* (1.55m) Prize of the Grand Hotel Les Trois Rois — narrowly missing out on the jump off with just one time penalty in the first round.

Congratulations Edwina!
