Top event rider Michael Jung has a new horse in his stable — the 11-year-old gelding Chipmunk FRH.

The horse was formerly ridden by fellow German rider Julia Krajewski, who produced the horse from a four year old through to the elite level. The pair had six years together, after which the contract with the owner ended and unfortunately the horse had to be sold. Julia and Chipmunk enjoyed many wins at 3* (now 4*) level, with some of the most recent wins being Aachen CICO3*, Bramham CCI3* and Marbach CIC3*.

Michael Jung is understandably excited to take on such a good horse, and made the following statement on his Facebook page:

“As it probably has been read yesterday, I have a new top horse in the stable.
When I was informed at the end of last year that Chipmunk could not stay with Julia, but there was the opportunity to hold him for Germany and myself, I tried to achieve this.

In the end, I owe it to the support of many sponsors and my great partner Fischer. It's for me something new to get a "finished" horse… I thank Julia for the great years of training and I'm curious what Chip and I can expect over the next few years.”
