Britain’s Piggy French has set a new record in the eventing world, having won her 14th international win of 2019. The 39-year-old Northamptonshire-based rider collected her 14th international win at the Osberton Horse Trials, in the 7-year-old CCI-S YH3* Championship class.

The previous record holder was Germany’s Michael Jung, who managed to win 13 international classes in 2009, 2014 and 2015.

French has had an exceptional year on the international eventing circuit, having won numerous highly contested international events, including this year’s Mitsubishi Motors Badminton Horse Trials. French narrowly beat former boyfriend Oliver Townend, on the 14-year-old Irish Sport Horse mare, Vanir Kamira.
