Paige Johnson beats the unbeatable Jack Towell

Paige Johson

It’s a new victory for Kent Farrington’s « equestrian academy » at the Longines Los Angeles Masters, as Paige Johnson won the Airbus Grand Prix after taking all risks in the jump-off with her 9-year-old Oldenburger gelding Luke Skywalker 46. “This was my first indoor show jumping with that horse. I got him last year as an eight-year-old and he was a bit green but he has all the ability so are taking our time with him. I'm so proud of him - he's come a long way in a year. We've jumped him big at home and he's so careful so you don't want to scare a horse like that. Next year he'll be 10 and we'll be able to challenge him a little bit more.” To win this Airbus Grand Prix, with a little margin of 14 hundredths, was not an easy job knowing that Paige had to be faster than Jack Towell who had already won two Prestige classes on Thursday and Friday.
