The first day of para dressage competition at the World Equestrian Games saw gold medals awarded to Netherlands, Denmark and Great Britain.

The Grade V Individual Test went to Sophie Wells and C Fatal Attraction of Great Britain on 75.429%. Second place went to Frank Hosmar and Alphaville NOP of the Netherlands with 73.167%, while third went to Germany’s Regine Mispelkamp and Look At Me Now on 71.452%.

In the Grade II Individual Test, it was Denmark’s Stinna Tange Kaastrup on Horsebo Smarties who took the gold with 72.735%. The gap between gold and silver was close, with the silver medal be awarded to Austria’s Pepo Puch and Sailor’s Blue on 72.676%. The bronze medal went to Nicole den Dulk of the Netherlands riding Wallace NOP on a score of 70.735%.

The Grade IV Individual Test was hotly contested and very close at the top of the leaderboard. In the end it was Sanne Voets and Demantur NOP of the Netherlands who took the gold on 73.927%. Silver went to Brazil’s Rodolpho Riskalla and Don Henrico on 73.366%, while bronze went to Denmark’s Susanne Jensby Sunesen and CSK’s Que Faire on 73.146%.

The para dressage continues tomorrow in Tryon (tonight and early Thursday morning AEST) with the Individual Tests for the Grade III and Grade I riders.
