Victoria’s dressage community and friends descended on the spectacular Albert Park Yachting & Angling Club on Saturday night for an evening of fun and celebration in order to support and raise funds for the Pryde’s Victorian State Dressage Squad. The ‘Midsummer in Rio’ themed night was a sensational success with everyone revelling in the beachside atmosphere and donating generously.
Will McLachlan was the Master of Ceremonies for the evening and his witty charm encouraged lavish spending for the live auction. The figure at the end of the night showed a profit of $13,000 had been raised for the squad.
The funds will be used in line with achieving the squad’s mission:
- to provide a platform for the best Victorian horse and rider combinations to regularly access world class dressage instruction - to provide a holistic approach to the athlete’s competition by delivering complementary education in all facets of the sport including horse management, ASADA, media and psychology - to develop a sense of camaraderie and professionalism in the Victorian team.
The squad organising group, consisting of Rae Ansell, Veronica Steward, Lone Joergensen, Georgina Foot and Fiona Selby would like to sincerely thank everyone who came and supported the event and made it such a success. They would also like to thank and acknowledge the following people and businesses who generously donated their time and or auction items:
- Pryde’s - Albert Road Serviced Apartments - Vitality - Jenny Smith Gardens - Will McLachlan - Sylvia McLachlan - Ben Ansell - Max Warwick - PKF Melbourne - Anky Australia
