Remaining horses stolen in repeat attack in Libya

Horse in stable - no credit required

30 more horses have since been stolen from one of Libya’s biggest racing studs, Al Shaab

30 more horses have since been stolen from one of Libya’s biggest racing studs, Al Shaab, since the initial robbery last Sunday.

The armed militia stole six in-foal mares, and six stallions last Sunday, including 2006 Australian Golden Slipper third placegetter, Churchill Downs.

Al Shaab Stud General Manager, Amad Dedin shared a post on his Twitter account, which read:

“Now armed Militias from Tarhuna have returned to steal the remaining 30 horses. I have now expected the worst. I stand in front of a stable silenced, my world is shameful.”

The stud has come under increasing risk in recent months due to the escalating violence in Libya.
