Royal Melbourne Horse Show Photos by ©Equine Image Photography Today marks the last day of the Royal Melbourne Horse Show, Australia’s largest horse breed show that hosts more than 4,400 of some of Australia’s most prized horses, riders and handlers. The past three days has seen a wide variety of breeds - from Andalusians, to Haflingers, to Shires - with the best examples of their type being shown against one another to be sashed as the best of their breed in Australia. Horses, riders and handlers have competed to be named Champion, Reserve or even Supreme with months of hard work, fitness and presentation all being scrutinised at the highest level. This prestigious show kicked off on Friday with many exciting classes. Highlights of the day included Show Hunter Ponies, Arabian classes and Welsh. The action continued on Saturday, featuring highlights from Australian Stock Horses, Friesians, Newcomer Riding Pony classes. Sunday was action packed with many stunning classes including Clydesdales, Palominos and Quarter Horses. The event will culminate today with HRCAV classes, Pony Club classes and RDA program.
