Sweden has reigned victorious at Tokyo 2020, taking Team Gold in a dramatic jump-off with the USA.

It came down to the last rider and the last fence, when Sweden’s Peder Fredricson and All In were headed for a fifth clear round at Tokyo but knocked the final fence, sending both teams into the jump-off.

The little bay, All In, was the only horse to jump all clear at Rio 2016 and would’ve claimed the same title in Tokyo, but surprisingly nicked the final pole which had been jumped clear by every other combination tonight.

Sweden’s Malin Baryard-Johnsson riding Indiana, Peder Fredricson riding, All In, and Henrik von Eckermann riding King Edward rode a clear combined time of 122.90 in the jump-off to beat the USA’s time of 124.20.

The USA’s Laura Kraut riding Baloutinue, Jessica Springsteen riding Don Juan Van De Donkhoeve, and Mclain Ward riding Contagious will take home the silver medal, while Belgium have won bronze.
