Australia's top equestrian athletes will converge on the homeground equestrian venue of the Sydney 2000 Olympic Games from 1-3 May for the annual Sydney International Horse Trials. Come and get a blaste of the Olympic fever with this International level event who features Australia's top riders and horses.

Did you know that as part of the Sydney International Horse Trials the country’s top show jumpers will be taking part of the 2nd leg of the World Cup Showjumping series ?  So don't miss the opportunity of 2 prestigious events for the price of 1 ! Eventing program: 

** Equestrian NSW CCI3*

** CCI2*, CIC2*, CCI1* and CIC1*

** the popular Young Event Horse classes (for 4, 5 and 6-year-old horses)

Showjumping program:

** Greater Sydney CSI World Cup Jumping series Qualifier.

** and a number of other classes

This competition is the highest level of ShowJumping with jumps up to 1.60m high and 2.0m wide. The indoor show draws horses and riders from all over Australia, the elite athletes of the sport.

Behind the Scenes Tours

Each year, Sydney International Horse Trials hosts the very special “Behind-the-Scenes” tours. A unique opportunity to discover the backstage of one of Australia’s premier equestrian events. Visitors will get a guided cross country walk, the best way to get closer to the impressive 45 fixed obstacles spread on a 3 to 8 kilometers distance. The most difficult and exciting phase of the Eventing discipline ! On Saturday, distinguished guests will be present for the cross-country walk : world renowned UK course designer – Mike Etherington-Smith and former Australian Eventing Coach, Wayne Roycroft. The tours will also offer a visit of the stables, the heart of the event, where top eventing and jumping horses get meticulous care and rest between the competition phases. The tours also offer the visitors the opportunity to watch the competitions from a reserved and privileged area and a prime viewing position on the cross-country.

Includes free entry and parking. All Tours includ a guided cross country walk and a signed souvenir event program. Bookings close 20 April.

Friday 1 May– DRESSAGE - ($40/head) – 10.00 am to 4.30 pm

Saturday 2 May – CROSS COUNTRY – ($40/head ) - 9.45 am to 3.30pm

Sunday 3 May – SHOWJUMPING – ($40/head) – 9.45 am to 3.30pm

A Day for all the family!

This year's event promises something for everyone - KID ZONE with free pony rides, a jumping castle, face painting and petting zoo will keep them entertained will sporting enthousiasts will enjoy the competition. It is a great day out for the family with free entry for children under 16. The event also includes a shopping village, food and drinks on sale.

Jockey’s Jumping Challenge

On Sunday afternoon, legends of the turf including Hugh Bowman, Jimmy Cassidy and Kathy O’Hara will swap their race silks for show jumping coats. They will be paired with a Showjumping rider who will have to test their skills in pony racing. It was a crowd favourite last year and is sure to get everyone laughing again this time!
