A stud career that has generated $2 billion in prizemoney and progeny sales will come to an end today when the last offspring of Redoute’s Choice goes under the hammer at the Inglis Easter Sales.

The incredible thoroughbred stud was a multiple Group One-winning, Australian-produced racehorse out of the famous international sire Danehill.

Redoute’s Choice died in March 2019 and his race earnings alone were $1.5 million, but his stud career proved to be equally as profitable.

When lot 410, a yearling out of Japanese mare Malala, walks into the ring at the Riverside Stables in Warwick Farm, it will be a time for Arrowfield Stud boss John Messara to reflect on his super-sire’s career, which produced an average price of $416,000 per yearling across 1717 sales, with 82 breaking the $1 million mark.
