Tom McDermott has taken out the Senior Title NSW Showjumping Championships in Canberra over the weekend and is now one win away from a $50,000 pay day!

McDermott and his horse Elegance De La Charmille performed well over two qualifying rounds, before making the final and ultimately securing first place - and also second aboard Diamonte. Third place went to Brooke Langbecker and Quintago 1.

Just a week earlier McDermott won the NSW Country Championships in Wagga. Both events are part of the NSW Triple Crown series, with the third and final leg to be held at Willinga Park in December. If he wins at there, he'll clinch the triple crown and collect his $50,000 bonus.

McDermott has been almost unbeatable this year and he was joined on the podium by best friend Brooke Langbecker who secured third aboard Quintago 1.

The NSW Showjumping Championships attracted more than 400 competitors to Canberra.
