Fifteen years on and New Zealanders Andrew Nicholson (Mr Smiffy) and Blyth Tait (Ready Teddy) are still going strong. Here, we look back on their brilliant cross country rounds at Burghley Horse Trials in 2001.
The pair were in first and second position after the cross country, with Blyth and Ready Teddy going on to win the event.
Both riders are competing at Burghley this year. Andrew will ride two of his three entries - Qwanza, Jet Set IV and Nereo, while Blyth is riding Bear Necessity.
