Andrew Hoy’s 2018 World Equestrian Games partner, Vassily De Lassos has been nominated for the EquiRatings Horse of The Year award! The exceptionally talented nine-year-old has made it to the final round, where the world’s top twelve horses will battle it out for the number one spot!

“We are over the moon with the nomination of Andrew’s 9-year-old WEG partner, Vassily De Lassos, to the final round of the world’s top 12 horses to battle out the ‘EquiRatings Horse of the Year’ contest.

"It is a huge honour to be listed for this contest and while we appreciate it is a big task to be successful against much older and more experienced horses, we would like to do Australia, Vassily’s owners and out dear supporters and partners proud."

"The contest is operating in a ‘’know out’’ mode through to the final - it has started today with ‘round one’, which will run through to the 16th of December 2018. In this first round Vassily is, due to draw, facing very tough competition in this year’s Badminton winner, the lovely 15-year-old mare Classic Monet, who is ridden by Jonelle Price. "

"Andrew and Vassily are the only Australian combination nominated in the competition, so we would hope to be able to unite Australia’s support behind Vassily.’’ Says Team Hoy
