The Groom Scholarship Program

The Groom Scholarship Program is an exciting new Scholarship that will be awarded to an aspiring young groom who has the desire to pursue their dream to work in the equestrian industry. This scholarship is supported by a great team of highly respected people within the dressage community.

This scholarship is an amazing opportunity for a young rider/groom to gain entry into the equestrian industry with assistance from a variety of supporters. The scholarship includes a 12-month employment contract with Robali Equestrian and McKinnon Sport Horses, enrolment in an industry recognised qualification, on-the-job mentoring by CONNECT Northern Rivers Workplace Mentors, accommodation at Robali Equestrian, agistment for 1 horse and a weekly lesson, attendance at approved competitions, $1000 worth of products from Equestrian Wear, a year’s subscription to Equestrian Life Magazine, all culminating in a week-long work experience at a world-famous yard overseas.  A total package valued at over $25,000.

The Groom Scholarship Program is designed to help a young person’s entry into the equestrian industry an enjoyable and rewarding experience. It is however a big commitment on the part of both the young person and their family. It is a 12-month program that must be committed to with 100% conviction. A groom’s life, whilst rewarding, is physically demanding and just plain hard work so all applicants must be prepared and ready for this.

5 Finalists will be chosen with each person having the opportunity to work at Robali Equestrian for a week’s work experience which will be invaluable on any resume. The winner will then be decided by the Groom Scholarship Panel and Equestrian Life Magazine will feature a story on the finalists and ultimate winner.

2019 applications are now closed.

Congratulations to the 2019 winner, Keevah Lennon from Dural, NSW!

A full report on the finalists will be available in the July/August edition of Equestrian Life magazine.
