2018 Australian Dressage Championships (Day Two)

Today was the final day for the Para Equestrian riders, with the Equestrian Australia Para Equestrian Freestyle classes for all grades.

The Grade I went to Morgan Webb Liddle and Don Armani with 63.911%, the Grade II went to Bridget Murphy and Koora-lyn Sunrise on 64.934%, and the Grade III went to Elizabeth Anne Skinner and Freedom Spyda. The hotly contested Grade IV class went to Matilda Carnegie and Devils Chocolate on a big score of 72.442%; Amanda Parsons and LBA Zhia were the runners up on 69.900%. The Grade V class saw Chelsea De Jonge and Boy score 65.350% to win.

In the Widderstein Stables Intermediate II, it was Grand Prix combination Shannan Goodwin and Aristede who took first place with 69.941%, just ahead of Alycia Targa and CP Dresden on 66.676%. The Pony Intermediate II was won by Pamela Bice and Rosthwaite Tinkerbell on 62.794%.

Trailrace Saddlery Intermediate A saw young gun Riley Alexander win with Larenso on 66.294%, while the Inter A Pony class went to Sara Price and Cheval De Luxe with a score of 65.529%.

Always a hotly contested class, the Carol Haynes and Skipp Williamson Prix St Georges saw five combinations score over 70%. Maree Tomkinson and Donna Elena won the class with 72.853%, just narrowly beating Robert Harrison Schmerglatt and Fiderfurst on 72.588%. Gordon Pratt on Bloomers Simply the Best, Rodney Martin and Platypus Run Firenz and Riley Alexander and MI Sirtainly Sir all scored over 70%. In the Pony PSG, Amy Bachmann scored 63.971% aboard Heritage Park Chartreuse to win the class.

To the Boneo Park Pony Elementary 3.2 and 3.3 classes, and it was Sancha Butler on Carwyn Monte Carlo who won both tests; they scored 67.333% in the 3.3 and 68.009% in the 3.2.

There were big numbers in the County Saddlery Novice 2.2 and 2.3 classes. The 2.2 saw Justine Greer and Yarramee Fonzie win on 71.381% over Heather Currie and Fred Perry on 70.191%. These results were reflected in the 2.3, with Justine scoring 72.931% for the win, and Heather in second on 70.517%.

Competition continues tomorrow, with classes including the Grand Prix CDI-W!
