Kaitlin Labahn-Meyland and Rolex II at the 2018 Barastoc HOTY show

The 50th anniversary of the Barastoc Horse Of The Year show was held over last weekend at Werribee Park Equestrian Centre. The show, which commenced last Friday saw a variety of classes throughout the duration of the show.

The Barastoc Horse Of The Year show was also the official qualifying event for the Australasian Show Horse and Rider Championships, which will be held in December at the end of this year.

The champion of the Child’s Large Hack class was won by Kaitlin Labahn-Meyland, who was riding a handsome dapple grey, named Rolex II. Kaitlin and Rolex II were also the champions of the open large hack class. 

The champion of the Child’s Small Hack was awarded to Stephanie Barrington and Daly Downs True Colours. The winner of the Child’s Large Pony Hack was awarded to Poppi Plumb and Miranda Alabaster.

The champion of the Child’s Small Show Hunter Pony class was Annabelle Richardson, riding Osiris My Golly Gosh. The Champion of the Child’s Medium Show Hunter Pony class was Minna Baxter, riding Imperial Jester, and the champion of the Child’s Large Show Hunter Pony Class was awarded to Rebecca Gerber, riding Loriot Breaking Dawn.

The champion of the Rider Over 25 Years class was awarded to Stephanie Barrington and Dior.

The champion of the Rider 18 years to 25 years inclusive class was won by Georgie Kellock and Belcam Coralline.

The Champion Junior rider of the 2019 Barastoc Horse Of The Year class was awarded to Jessica Sharp, riding Imperial Vagabond. The reserve champion was awarded to Annabelle Richardson and Rosworth Merry Poppins.
