Organisers of the 2021 Saddlefitter Brisbane CDI have announced the event for next month will now be run as a CDN.

In a statement, Dressage Queensland Chairperson Anita Barton said the change to the program is due to the uncertainty of international travel caused by recent Covid outbreaks.

“Despite the challenges, the Barastoc Youth Championships and the Saddlefitter Brisbane CDI event organisers remain committed to delivering national standard championship events, rewarding for all stakeholders inclusive of competitors, sponsors, spectators and traders alike.

"With the recent Delta outbreak causing closure of state borders and the travel bubble between Australia and New Zealand, with an abundance of caution a decision has been made to downgrade the Saddlefitter Brisbane CDI to a CDN status event.

"The decision is simply a reflection of our inability to have foreign judges sit on the Ground Jury and in no way diminishes the quality of the event.

"This means competitors entered in CDI classes will now no longer require FEI documents and registration to participate. Additionally, the EADC have permitted us to run without requiring qualification scores in the FEI classes (so long as combination competency scores as per rule 4.8.3.2 for FEI levels are met).

"Entries for the Barastoc Youth Championships and the Saddlefitter Brisbane CDN are strong across all FEI and National classes. We remain confident in our ability to deliver two championship events that will be competitive, engaging, friendly, fun, supportive and rewarding for all involved.”
