Equestrian in the Park returns to Perth later this year on 1 December!
This unique event has developed a huge following and is arguably the most popular event on the W.A. equestrian calendar. The event was the brain child of the Hickson family, and a new committee has now taken over the running of the event with the plan being to build on the Hickson’s successful formula.
There are a couple of key changes proposed for this year’s event to continue to enhance the spectacle and excitement. One of the key changes for 2018 is a jump off in both classes; the key concept here is to keep the excitement levels high and to maximise the enjoyment for the crowd!
Another key change for the event, consistent with the name change to Equestrian in the Park (formerly Eventing in the Park), is the plan to include more equestrian disciplines. This year there will be a showjumping class held between the two eventing classes.
Riders complete a course that includes both cross country and showjumping obstacles.
This is expected to be an exciting spectacle with some of the state’s best show jumpers to participate in what the Committee expects will develop into a prestigious event.
Many of the other key attractions of Eventing in the Park will remain the same, including the stunning location on the banks of the Swan River.
The event is very fortunate to have the support of the town of Victoria Park to allow the use of a unique location, because as equestrian people are aware, there are very few inner city equestrian events in Australia and while the Adelaide 3-Day Event does have a unique location, this event’s stunning location courtesy of the town of Victoria Park is very impressive!
