Australia’s Rowan Willis and Blue Movie have finished in 12th place in the jumping final at the World Equestrian Games. The pair have had an exceptional Games, finishing third in the Speed Class on Wednesday, had just two rails down during Round 1 on Thursday, and then went clear in Round 2 on Friday. On Sunday (last night AEST) the pair had one rail in Round A, which was enough to see them contest Round B; they had two rails down but finished in 12th place, which was an outstanding effort.

Billy Raymond and Oaks Redwood, the other Australian combination to make it through to the final day of competition, unfortunately had to retire during Round A. They finished in 24th place of more than 120 competitors and made the final after jumping clear during Round 2 of competition on Friday.

Gold went to Germany’s Simone Blum and DSP Alice, who jumped clear across the Speed Class, Round 1, Round Two and Rounds A and B last night. In the final round they incurred just one time penalty. The silver went to Swiss pair Martin Fuchs and Clooney, while third went to fellow countryman Steve Guerdat and super mare Bianca. American McLain Ward and Clinta just missed out on gaining a medal on home turf, finishing in fourth place.
