New Lals Haven arrivals!

Team Joyce wish to share with you some lovely pictures of our newest arrivals so far. Oaks Volta’s progeny are looking very striking with lots of bling. So far, Lals Haven Warmbloods have accomplished safe arrivals of two fillies and one colt and have five more broodmares to go. The first filly to arrive in mid-September we named LH Vienna - she is out of Blackall Park Chiquita. Vienna has four white stockings and a lovely blaze. We are thinking she will turn rose grey like LH Clarissa, another daughter now a 3 year old just broken in and going nicely; her sire is Caracas. Oaks Volta’s progeny are definitely appearing with some form of white, some more than others - we do not mind seeing a bit of bling!

LH Anna also had a stunning black filly, LH Vivianna. She has one little star on her forehead. Last season LH Anna produced a colt, LH Voltage, and he is maturing nicely up in Beau Desert with his owners the Harnett family. Vivianna is a very pretty gal who canters around late evening, very balanced always striking off with front and back feet in sync. A pleasure to watch!

Only last week, LH Heidi dropped a handsome colt - LH Vicar. We tried to source an Irish boys’ name because Heidi contains Irish blood. Vicar also possesses lots of bling...it really does appeal to our eyes!

Vicar has a huge canter and a high knee action to match; his back feet reach over the front with fluency whether cantering or trotting at only seven days old. Of course it’s early days, but all foals are healthy and happy. Our lush grass definitely helps the mares stay in top condition while lactating and we only feed a small amount of Barastoc Breed & Grow to encourage the mares to come down every day so we can observe both mum and baby to make sure everything is going well. It also helps us to determine when the mare is cycling so we can place them back in foal for 2018.

Oaks Volta performed beyond our expectations at the Australian Showjumping Championships back in September. Wes could not wipe the smile off his face after jumping two clean rounds in the Emerald Series class on Friday afternoon out of 130 combinations. We even sat down in our truck to chat about it. We are so pleased with Oaks Volta - he did not touch a fence and did not look like having one down. Placing 3rd was a massive feat; I had to take a picture of the lovely white sash around his neck.
