The team at Boneo Park are ensuring Victorian Dressage riders and enthusiasts can enjoy a rapid return to the sport they love as the state’s Covid restrictions ease. On Friday the spectacular venue hosted its second dressage competition in just 5 days!

Friday’s November Young Horse and EA Dressage competition saw an enthusiastic field of riders from Elementary to Grand Prix level displaying the skills they had honed during Victoria’s extensive lockdown period. With Four Year Old, Five Year old and Six Year Old Young Horse Classes included in the program, this was also an opportunity for upcoming stars of the sport to enjoy a competitive outing in glorious spring conditions.

Amanda Ross may be best known for her prowess as an eventing rider, however she is no stranger to success in the dressage arena. Riding three horses in the Medium classes at Boneo Park, she impressed with a winning score of 71.459% riding RLE Cavalier Vivendi in the Medium 4A, also placing 2nd and 3rd in the class with Dondiablo and RLE Poynstown Will respectively. In the September issue of Equestrian Life magazine, we caught up with Amanda and learned about the surprise arrival of a secret weapon that has no doubt contributed to the excellent dressage scores she achieved at Boneo Park. The FEI level classes attracted small entry numbers however the standard was high; in the Prix St Georges class, the top 4 riders scored over 70%. Stephanie MacDonald won the class on a score of 71.986% riding Friedolin 36.

Scores were impressive in the Young Horse classes, with the stand out being 81.400% for Jane Toohey and Aberdeen MI as winners of the 4 Year Old class.

Full results from all classes can be found here.
