The Marwari horse comes from the Marwar region of India, and is known for their inward-turning ears. The breed has been tracked back to 1150 AD, with drawings of the distinct breed appearing on caves and paintings throughout western and central India.

Characteristics of the magnificent breed include their iconic inward-turning ears, a deep chest, a long and smooth back and a high set tail - similar to the Arab breed. The Marwari breed are typically between 14 and 16 hands and have a variety of coat colours.

Today, the Marwari breed is primarily used for shows, horse safaris, ceremonial and religious purposes and sporting events.
