Dubbed “The World’s Most Famous Horse Show”, the UK’s Horse of the Year Show (HOYS) kicks off today… and as always there will be some famous faces competing.
Charlotte Dujardin heads the list in the dressage with her National Small Tour Champion, Mount St John Freestyle. The pair will be one of eight to contest the prestigious Future Elite Class tomorrow (Thursday 5th), which is aimed at Grand Prix prospects who are currently competing Small Tour and are aged between eight and 10 years old.
Charlotte won the class last year with the impressive Hawtins Delicato. Mount St John Freestyle, by Fidermark, is owned by Emma Blundell and is the youngest horse in the class. The pair scored a record 81.5% to win the Intermediate I Freestyle at the Nationals.
Also competing in the Future Elite Class: Maria Eilberg and Sarotti 57, Sophie Wells and C Fatal Attraction, Vicki Thompson Winfield and Artist, Sadie Smith and Keystone Dynamite, Dan Greenwood and Chevalier O, Owen Cooper and Don Dante, and Rebecca Cowderoy and Celicia.
Charlotte is also holding dressage masterclass at HOYS.
