Sir Mark Todd KNZM CBE, a multi-gold medal winning New Zealand Olympic champion and the greatest eventing rider in the world, will be competing at Equestrian in the Park in Perth, Western Australia on Saturday 1 December. Mark’s record and achievements will make him the most decorated rider to have competed officially in an Australian competition.

Mark has competed at eight Olympic games, twice in both eventing and showjumping, five World Equestrian games, he won Badminton four times and Burghley five. His unsurpassable triumphs have been rewarded the MBE (1984), the CBE (1995), in 2000 he was voted the 'Event Rider of the 20th Century' by the FEI and he received a Knighthood in 2013, with his investiture carried out by Prince Charles.

The opportunity to watch Mark ride at an event like Equestrian in the Park is one not to be missed. It is a high-adrenaline eventing Grand Prix, set in an inner-city location on the banks of the Swan River. Guests will be able to watch in close proximity as riders navigate the entire course in front of their eyes. This intimate exposure to the sport is something that is not often experienced with most cross country courses.

We hope that his involvement in the event not only provides a sporting spectacle, but gives people the chance to see a top international rider without having to travel overseas, something which for many is a great source of inspiration. In addition to the appearances that Mark will make throughout the day of the event, there will be further opportunities to see him and learn from him while he is in Perth. He will be teaching a sold-out clinic at Oakford Equestrian Centre, and fence-sitting tickets are available.

It will be an honour to have Mark competing on Australian soil, he is an outstanding rider, and his visit corroborates the high standard of Eventing competitions in Australia.
