You’ve probably seen videos on Facebook and YouTube where people dress up in t-rex outfits — pretty hilarious, right? I’m pretty sure there’s even a video where one of these creatures sits astride a horse.

Well, as it turns out not all horses are fans of humans in t-rex suits — surprise, surprise. A North Carolina woman is current facing charges after police alleged she startled a pair of carriage horses while in costume.

Apparently when the horses drew nearer to the lady, she began making growling noises. This spooked the horses and they began to back up; the driver called on the lady to stop and move away but she continued to face the horses. The animals then continued to back up and caused minor damage to an unoccupied vehicle behind them. The driver was dislodged from the carriage and the wheel rolled over one leg; it’s believed he suffered a broken foot and bruising. Neither the horses nor passengers where hurt.

Although the horses were relatively experienced at their job, they were simply not prepared to come across a growling t-rex on a street corner. Considering the average horse is terrified of garbage bins and plastic bags, we think their reaction was more than justified.
