Ally Lamb claims World Wetlands Day Grand Prix at Boneo

By Equestrian Life

Sunday at the World Wetlands Day Jumping Championships saw plenty of action on the main arena.

The headline class, the Browns Sawdust Grand Prix, was a thrilling event that had spectators on the edge of their seats until the very last combination. Ally Lamb and 15 year old Eagle Rock (Berlin x Vancouver) produced a wonderful clear in the first round, completing the jump off with just 4 faults in a blistering time of 51.71 to claim the win.

Not the first win for Ally today, she also piloted the talented Cera Ducati (by Diamant de Semmily) to the win in the competitive Antares Future Stars 130 – 135cm, on a time of 48.72.

Second place in the Grand Prix went to Phillip Lever & Billionaire Nzph on a time of 53.56 with the combination taking the back rail on a close inside turn, and third place to Robert Palm and Jaybee Vibrant on 53.89.

The JPR Equestrian Mini Prix went to Frida Lindgren and Lomachenko, who produced one of two double clears in the quickest time. Lomachenko, who won the Grand Prix with Phillip Lever in 2022, was undefeated this weekend with Frida, also claiming the Open 135cm on Friday.

It was the combinations first event together since Lomachenko was a Young Horse, with Frida taking over the reins for the event from partner Phil. When asked if we will see Frida and Lomachenko out together again, Frida laughs “ Yes, I hope so! It couldn’t have gone much better than this weekend, so I hope I will get another go with him.”

The Junior and Young Rider Championships were won by Tanner Robinson with Vidacious and Cracker. Tanner said of her Junior win on Vidacious “As I was last I could see how everyone went, and I knew the mare is naturally quick, so all I wanted to do was get around clear!”
